Sybyte Technologies Inc. ("Sybyte", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.sybyte.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada'sPersonal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical information needed to keep the website secure.

• Contact and careers forms: your name, email address, and any phone number, company, subject and message you provide.
• Newsletter: your email address and the date you confirmed your subscription.
• Comments on articles: your name (shown publicly), your email address (never shown) and your comment.
• Sybyte Assistant (chat): the messages you type, and any contact details you choose to share so our team can follow up.
• Technical information: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and your browser type, used only to prevent spam and abuse.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for.
• To consider you for a role if you send us your career details.
• To send the newsletter, only after you confirm your subscription by email.
• To publish and moderate comments.
• To improve the answers the Sybyte Assistant gives.
• To protect the website against spam, fraud and misuse.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. When you use a form, comments or the chat, the website sets one strictly necessary security cookie so it can confirm the request really came from this site. It is deleted when you close your browser.

The video on our homepage is hosted by YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; after that, YouTube's own privacy policy applies. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.

Where your information is stored

Our website and database are hosted by our web hosting provider, and email is handled by our email service providers. These providers may store information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian law.

How we protect it

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), restrict access to staff who need it, protect our administration area with individual accounts and strong passwords, and keep an audit log of administrative actions.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and career details only as long as needed for the purpose they were sent, and chat and security records for a limited time. Newsletter subscribers are removed when they unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

• You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email.
• You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
• You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits.
